Well that was just a bit too good to be true.

Wednesday, September 30th. "Hello Jesslyn, its Maureen at St.Mikes, we are going to have to move your surgery back". My heart immediately sank. "We need to reserve a ICU bed for your dad and we need you to both self isolate for 14 days prior as well as the usual final testing". Pardon? Reserve an ICU bed, I hope one would have been available regardless of whether we are in a pandemic or not.

We have been delayed a week back to the original date of October 22nd. Not as bad as I first had anticipated.

As it would turn out, extra testing and appointments are extensive, so the extra week has turned out to be beneficial. However, I'm only 2 days into "isolation" and it hasn't been favorable. The countdown is on, 13 days left.

This weekend is Thanksgiving. It is the first holiday I will not be able to be with my kids, or my parents for that matter. Bryson will be spending it with his favorite family who has been extremely supportive and he is the self proclaimed long lost triplet. Ashlyn will be with my cousins for part of the time, and my brother as well. I am so thankful they are welcomed into so many homes. I feel mixed emotions about being by myself without them and know in the grand scheme of things, this is minor, but I'm still sad.

I will take the next few weeks to focus on a few things that have fell by the wayside. My Young Living business, and the forever scheduling at the studio. I will throw in a bit of time for myself, although not too much or I will drive myself crazy. Declutter a few things, and most importantly this weekend I will bake and do porch drop off's at my brothers and my parents so I can feel like a little piece of me will still be there with them this weekend.

Now for real, you won't hear from me until after surgery!
